Privacy Policy

Holmes Labs LLC builds apps that hold real personal information, so we keep our privacy practices short, specific, and readable.

Last updated August 3, 2026

1. Scope

This policy covers this website and the Holmes Labs LLC apps OurNest, SaleScout, and AlleyCat. Individual apps may show additional, more specific notices inside the app or on their store listing.

2. Information we collect

We aim to collect only what an app needs in order to work:

  • Information you give us — for example your name, email address, and message when you use the contact form on this site, or account details you enter inside an app.
  • Content you create — items, listings, events, or notes you save while using an app, stored so the app can show them back to you.
  • Technical and diagnostic data — basic device, crash, and error information used to fix problems and keep the service reliable.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

3. How we use information

We use information to operate and secure our products, respond to support and business inquiries, fix bugs, and improve features. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your private app content for advertising.

4. Service providers

We rely on a small number of third-party providers for hosting, databases, email delivery, crash reporting, and app distribution (including the Apple App Store and Google Play). These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms, and only as needed to deliver their service.

5. Retention and deletion

We keep information for as long as it is needed to provide the product or as required for legal and accounting purposes, then delete or anonymize it. You can request deletion of your account data at any time by emailing us; we will confirm once the request is complete.

6. Your choices

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and you can opt out of non-essential email from us at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy law — we honor those requests through the same contact address below.

7. Email and unsubscribing

If you join our launch-update list, we store only your email address and the page you signed up from, and we use it solely to tell you when we ship a new app or a major update. We never sell or rent that address.

You can remove yourself at any time on our email preferences page, or by using the unsubscribe link in any update we send. Unsubscribing deletes your address from the list. Essential transactional messages about an app you actively use — such as password resets or security notices — are separate and are not marketing email.

8. Security

Access to production systems is limited to the studio, data is transmitted over encrypted connections, and we review our configuration as products change. No online service can promise perfect security, so we do not claim to be immune to incidents — we do commit to investigating and notifying affected users when required.

Our Security & Privacy page explains these practices in plain language and tells you how to report a vulnerability.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users in the affected app.

10. Contact

Privacy questions and deletion requests go to info@holmeslabs.dev. We aim to respond within two business days.
